In 1958, he moved to the United States again and, while attending Washington State University, founded his own martial art, "Jeet Kune Do," and opened a dojo. In 1964, his demonstration match at the World Karate Tournament in Long Beach attracted attention, leading him to work as an action choreographer in Hollywood and appearing as Kato in the TV series "The Green Hornet."
