[Product Introduction] Hot Toys' "Movie Masterpiece" series welcomes Robocop, the iconic sci-fi action film of the 80s, back to its lineup. ED-209, the robot that cornered Robocop, makes its appearance with talking capabilities! ED-209 is a heavily armed law enforcement robot developed by OmniCorp, a massive private corporation entrusted with running the police force in a near-future Detroit plagued by crime. Richard Jones, the company's No. 2, confidently took charge of its development, but an incident occurred during testing where it shot and killed a human. After Robocop's arrival, the project was temporarily shelved, but Jones, who had ties to Clarence, a notorious criminal who controlled the city, attempted to use ED-209 to eliminate Robocop. Standing 35 centimeters tall and featuring over 25 points of articulation, this figure perfectly recreates the ED-209 as presented by OmniCorp's Vice President Jones. The meticulously crafted metal skeleton features exposed telescopic cylinders and suspension, allowing for enjoyable mechanical design and movement. The gray coloring applied to the entire body, combined with meticulously applied weathering, creates a sense of weight and realism. The faithful reproduction of decals and hazard markings placed throughout the figure is another highlight. The machine guns and rocket launchers built into both arms are also precisely crafted down to the smallest detail. Furthermore, the left arm can be swapped with an included part to recreate the battle damage inflicted by Robocop. The height of the legs can be extended and retracted by sliding them, allowing for the recreation of comical movements from the film. In addition, this item features a talking gimmick that plays three memorable lines! You can enjoy the same voices as in the movie using the included remote control. ED-209, which was part of the early "Movie Masterpiece" series, has been eagerly awaited for a re-release. Hot Toys has poured its latest technology and love into this item, which has been upgraded after approximately seven years, and the simultaneously announced [Movie Masterpiece DIECAST] Robocop are the ultimate masterpieces that Robocop fans cannot miss! [Work Introduction]
RoboCop (1987) A sci-fi violence action film about a police officer who dies in the line of duty and is resurrected as a cyborg to take on criminal organizations. Directed by Dutch director Paul Verhoeven, known for his social satire, this sci-fi film has a distinctly different feel from typical entertainment works, with a dark undertone throughout. The completely new hero image was embraced in the United States and around the world, becoming a huge hit. In a near-future Detroit, where crime is rampant, the police force is managed by a giant private corporation, OmniCorp. To reduce violent crime, the company develops heavily armed, large police robots. Although this attempt ends in failure, they begin the plan to create the cyborg police officer "RoboCop." One day, Officer Murphy, who has just been transferred to the Detroit Police Department, discovers the hideout of Clarence and his gang of dangerous criminals. He infiltrates the hideout but is surrounded and brutally murdered. His body is recovered by OmniCorp and eventually resurrected as RoboCop.
