【Work Introduction】
'ATOM' (2009) The setting is Metro City, a dream aerial city where robots and humans coexist. Dr. Tenma, who lost his beloved son in an unfortunate accident, uses a new energy source developed by his colleague Dr. Ochanomizu, the "Blue Core," to resurrect his son as a state-of-the-art robot. However, he is not the same as a real human. Though he looks the same, he is not the son he loved. Rejected and alienated by his father, Toby leaves his father and comes to Earth for the first time in his life. It is a slum. But through his interactions with the kind-hearted older robots and the resilient humans who live there, Toby is reborn as "Astro Boy" and begins to walk a new path. Dr. Tenma is constantly tormented in his heart, wondering if he did the right thing by bringing his son back to life. Meanwhile, those who seek Astro Boy's abilities and the ultimate clean energy source, the Blue Core, begin to appear, and he is drawn into a battle he does not want to be involved in. Atom didn't want to use his powers in battle, but the strongest robot, equipped with the ultimate negative energy, the "Red Core"—a by-product of the Blue Core development—has finally begun to move, targeting Atom. www.atom-movie.jp
