Kratos is the protagonist of the saga in the God of War video games, started on the PlayStation 2 console and Sony franchise.
Throughout the series in the Greek era, Kratos embarks on various adventures in an attempt to avert disaster or change his destiny. Portrayed as oblivious to everything, and of an arrogant nature, several times he engaged in morally ambiguous activities, and performed acts of extreme violence. He is a Spartan warrior who became known as the "Ghost of Sparta" after accidentally killing his family due to the tricks of Ares, the God of War. He avenges the death of his family and becomes the new God of War after killing Ares, and ended up discovering that he is also a demigod among the many sons of Zeus, father of the Greek Gods who later betrayed him.
